Guest Lecture Program on Power System Automation

 The Department of EEE in association with IEEE had organized a guest lecture programme on POWER SYSTEM AUTOMATION by Dr Girish V, Executive Engineer, HESCOM Corporate Office, Hubballi. The lecture focused on the phenomenal growth in the area of power systems and also gave insight about the current scenario of SCADA and provided the opportunities and challenges in the power system automation. Resource person encouraged the students to take interest in developing solutions to the existing problems in HESCOM

Guest Lecture on career opportunities in Armed Forces

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a Guest Lecture Programme on “Guest lecture on career opportunities in Armed forces” by Mr.AbhishekVerma ,Lieutenant Commander, Indian Armed Forces (Navy), IHQ , New Delhi on 20/9/2018. The students were motivated by patriotic talk and also career opportunities in armed forces.

Guest Lecture on Career Opportunities in Electrical CAD

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a Guest Lecture Programme on “Guest lecture on career opportunities in Electrical CAD” by Mr.Santosh Tuppad, CADD Centre, Belagavi. The resource person gave the broad spectrum about utilization of Electrical CAD in Core industries, in field of Design Engineering, O&M etc. To work in industries, the students were motivated to know the importance of learning Electrical CAD.

Guest Lecture on Electric Vehicles

An ISTE Sponsored Guest Lecture program on Electric Vehicles was arranged on 15th September 2018, on the occasion of  “Engineers Day”. The resource person was Dr.Santosh Kumar Hampannavar, Associate Professor, Adama Science and Technology University, Ethiopia. The guest lecture was concentrated on the necessity of EV’s, Comparative study of EV’s and present transportation system, Demand side management in presence of EV’s, connecting vehicle to grid and grid to vehicle, charging station. The session was well addressed to the faculties and students of the Electrical Engineering Department of KLE Dr. MSSCET, Belagavi.

Memorandum of understanding(MoU) with HESCOM, Hubballi

                Hubballi Electricity Supply Company Ltd.-HESCOM signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Collaboration with  Electrical and Electronics Department of KLE Dr. M.S. Sheshgiri College of Engineering and Technology, (KLE DR. MSSCET) Belagavi on the occasion of Teacher’s day, 5th September 2018. Mr. Jagadish Belagali, General Manager, Technical, HESCOM, Huballi was present on the occasion.
Following are the highlights of the MOU
1. The internship will be provided to the students at HESCOM
2. Strategic linkages will be established to cover the gap between industry and academia
3. Courses of mutual interest will be offered to the students on emerging trends in the sector.
4. Guest lectures will be organized to educate the students on latest developments in the domain
5.Mentoring will be carried out for U. G. students and Faculty training will be organised


Farewell to final year students 2017-18 was held on 17/05/2018, Guest for the farewell was  our Alumni Mr. Siddalingeshwar Sangolli, Project Head, Bajaj Electricals


Department conducted Project expo where students of 4th and 6thsem exhibited there mini-projects, which was evaluated by academician Dr. D.B.Kulkarni, Professor in EEE Dept., GIT, Belagavi and Industrialist Er. Subodh Kulkarni, Retd. Superintendent Engineer, KPTCL and who is now running S.K. Controls industry, Udyambag, Belagavi.



Students of the 8th  semester along with faculties have visited industries on 13/04/2018 to:

  • Doddanavar Energy Private limited (Wind Power Plant), Chikkodi

  • KPCL 3MW Solar Power Plant, Itnal, Chikkodi

  • Shiv Shakthi Sugar Industries, Raibag

Students of the 8th semester along with faculties have visited industries on 16/03/2018 to:

  • 220/110KV Receiving Station, HINDALCO.

  • India’s First Energy Meter Testing Centre, Belagavi









The VISSA( Vidyut staff and student association) organized ADIOS-17, a farewell to final year students of 2016-17 batch. This batch was departments’ 34th outgoing batch. The event was chaired by alumni of the department Mrs. Manisha Samant (1993 batch) who is presently working as DMG-Business Development, sterling and Wilson, Mumbai, accompanied by Prof. Uday wali, Prof. A.K.Shiralkar, HOD of EEE, KLE Dr. MSSCET. VISSA had also invited Ex faculties of the department Prof.Veena Hagragi and Prof. Sanjeev Deshpande to function.




The ISTE student chapter, in association with Vidyut Staff & Students Association (VISSA)  conducted a guest lecture on:“Awareness about Ethical and Environmental aspects in Power Sectors ” Resource Person: Dr. Praveen Gorpade, Prof. in Civil Engineering dept.,KLE Dr. MSSCET, Belagavi

The talk aims at addressing the issues related to Environmental aspects in power plants and also discuss the research issues involved in handling such cases with few case studies. This aims to motivate students to think and find the close relationship between Science, Technology, and Society


All the final year students have visited 3MW solar power plant and Shivashakthi sugar industry near Chikodi of Belagavi(Dist.) accompanied by faculty members  Prof. A.I Patil and Prof. Smitha Kamble on dated Feb 9th, 2017
